  2. My 12yo daughter was attacked by a grown woman. My daughter defended herself and the grown woman had the audacity to contact the police. The whole thing was caught on CCTV (busy city centre) yet the police attended our house to threaten my daughter with assault charges. When my daughter reeled off the list of witnesses and the fact it was caught on camera and that SHE would in fact like to press charges against the woman, the police moonwalked. Rather than apologise, empathise or anything else, they admitted they'd seen the footage and said had that footage not existed, she would be getting arrested there and then. We were one a few families of colour, living in a predominantly white area. Go figure

  34. The sun is so much more important than we realise. My Grandad suffered terrible pain and eventually moved to sunnier climes. This has helped him exponentially. Where possible, sit in the garden. Get as much sun exposure as possible. You don't have to walk, just sit or lay there. Grounding is also important. Barefoot on grass, even if only sitting on a chair, will definitely benefit.

It’s well documented why she wrote those notes the way she did. Please don’t rely solely on what the prosecutor claims. They take far too long. We know what happened, we know who’s responsible and we know who covered it up. We should stop wasting time and hold them ALL accountable. The local authority has been well aware of this issue for decades. They were aware when a young girl I know, was being SA’d in her foster placement and then again in the “care home” she was placed in. I removed her from there and took her out of LA care. The police attended my address to take her back and I politely told them I would take them to court as they were putting her at risk, they left her with me. It’s a disgrace and this issue isn’t exclusive to Muslim communities. This is a much bigger issue. It’s highlighting (once again) LA and police failings. What I will say is, we don’t have open and honest enough dialogue with the leaders in Muslim communities. Achieving that is a two way thing.

Oftentimes, MOJ cases with such high levels of public interest and where there has been a phenomenal spend on the trial, find it very difficult, often impossible, to get good legal representation following sentencing. I thoroughly respect these professionals for standing up, they are a credit to their profession.

Would you say it's fair to acknowledge what happened and apologise instead of the regurgitated "just get over it" position a lot of folk take? *I don't expect YOU to apologise personally, of course. The position that this was all centuries ago and so is irrelevant today is lazy at best, wilful ignorance at worst.
