  2. I’ve watched it a dozen times, now I watch it as a social and cultural snapshot of the times, look at the demographics, Paris is full of French people, no mass immigration !

  5.  @adrianparker-e9f  There’s a 10 minute clip on YouTube of Edward Fox talking about the film, it’s very interesting. The studio wanted a big name, Steve McQueen for the part, but Fred Zinnemann held out for Edward Fox.

  6.  @adrianparker-e9f  I like those old Citroen cars, notice Cyril Cusack is wearing a black armband and there’s a magazine article about JFK on the little coffee table. Fred Zinnemann was very upset about the 1990s remake. I think Michael Lonsdale is great in it.
