  1. I am totally deaf in one ear... ... so mono totally - and I move my head more than you - but also tilt to scan the 3-D... ... just like the dogs. And total culture errors also exist, I and some friends where finally up in the Alpes from London (UK), and the two normal hearing couldn't locate the aeroplane noise, I located by simple effort - we were "above" the plane and the two hearing guys were spinning like tops looking up - disbelieving their ears using, I suppose, muscle memory... ... but is not often that the plane is flying "down in the valley" and probably at half your height above sea level. Eiger and the Jungfraujoch, if you were interested... ...
