  3.  @tobiasL1991  Well, she is acting like it. Going to Ukraine and promising things to Ukraine that are unchievable. She is "representing Europe", well if someone is meant to represent me, I want him/her to elected by myself. The fact that they are unelected undermines the most basic/important value of Europe. My taxes are going to her unelected position.

  5.  @satyakisil9711  He is right, who gives a damn about countries like Poland, Belgium, Spain, Hungary or Portugal? If you bargain with France and Germany on the other you can gain more.

  6.  @Essah15  Not as bad as in CZ, the only places that are worse are Hungary and Poland. My Turkish friend who lives there complains a lot about it. Ofcourse not everyone is populist.

  7.  @tobiasL1991  Well, than the system doesn't work because through most of the time, almost no small nation chairman was elected. I don't think you can compare her with a PM, since it only represents 1 country. Now she is meant to represent ALL EU members, clowns like Charles Michel (who ruined the Belgian economy and didn't defend her TWICE in Turkey) and an unknown woman like her? Tbh, I think that populair ex-politicians like Angela Merkel would win in many countries (including mine).Jean-Claude Juncker and Donald Tusk were good tho. Charles Michel is a failed Belgian politician trying to make some carreer in the EU but also even failling there....

  9.  @nickm1727  The USA is knowing more and more segregation and polarisation.While the USA was traditionally known to act fast, the republicans and democrats are blocking eachother for eternity. The fact that the Republican party has transformed into a Trump party is even worse. Besides, American senators are entangled with too many companies (Democrats and Republicans).

  11.  @tobiasL1991  Juncker and Tursk were already known. Especially Tusk with his reforms in Poland and the fact that after his depart, Poland radicalised so quick. Belgium has up to no leverage in the EU,Luxembourg? Seriously? With "small nations" I mean nations that don't have much influence/power in the EU. Germany and France are practically the bosses in the EU. Especially now the UK has gone. It is a fact Berlin and Paris only choose the people that follow like Lambs. Timmermans, who was ELECTED by the Dutch people had a major chance to the position but he was refused...He was known to be a more colorful poltician that follows his own morals. That's why you often see colorless people like Michel or Ursula, loyal puppets that don't oppose Paris or Berlin. Like I said, they have actual power: symbolic power. They are seen as the respresentatives of the EU, they are the ones who get the most media attention. You really think the average European follows German politics? They are more interested in the American one. The voter is not involved. Yet all those appointed officials speak, make proposals and make decisions on behalf of Europe's nearly 450 million inhabitants. These usually have to be ratified by government leaders who do have an (indirect) mandate from the voter in their own country. The appointed officials are therefore not directly accountable to the voter. That should be reason to operate cautiously, but people behave as if that mandate is there. No president is elected; that would be contrary to the sovereignty of the member countries. The executive committee, the European Commission, is not elected but appointed. The chairman by the heads of government; the member states may each nominate their own European Commissioner. Stop comparing it to smaller, normal countries. The EU is taking decisions daily that affect us both and they we can't punish any bad decisions...
