  1.  master mariner  You have different layers of Islam and it is complex . I think the west learned this the hard way with ISIS and Iraq and so on... Afghanistan has many mountains and some areas are so remote that besides big cities nobody Will feel a difference.

The Taliban 2.0 PR stunt is BS but China and Russia are kinda right as long as they don't allow other t*rrorist groups like Al qaeda we maybe can live with it. But first we need to punish Pakistan for helping the taliban, Pakistan is one the biggest reason the taliban survived for so long.

  4.  @albertbresca8904  Failling? The Arabs fought bravely, the governments failed the people who made these plans for example were put in charge because they were the friend or family of someone and Israel had basically the help of the richest and most powerful nations.

  5.  x12 345  Israelis didn't have corrupt regimes and lazy officers that were busy spending more money on their shiny costumes and bureaus than focusing on the war. Arabs also knew they were fighting against a superior enemy because of the help: the jews for example got satelite images from the USA, how could they bomb the arab military airports so quick and precise? And many more tactical advantages by foreign nations. Funny how you guys like to portray Israel as this weaker, cute enemy that did its best and won by moral and the Arabs as a big superpower that got beaten ...

  6.  master mariner  The taliban and Afghanistan are not the same and most of the Taliban are Pashtun which is a large ethnicity in Afghanistan but the Taliban isn't 1 entity it is composed of different "mujahideen groups". I was talking about Afganhanistan first.

  14.  master mariner  This is totally different than WW2 , in America there is a national identity in Afganhanistan there is a lot of different ethnicities it a country that was created by the British to use it as a bufferzone against the Russians without thinking about the different ethnicities and languages.

They are friends with Israel and the USSR is too complex to Just say They were "enemies" with Israel.Vietnam was against the USA itself and was more complicated with Guerilla and a civil war.The Arab countries meanwhile dismissed the USSR officers in their countries, I AM saying this to prove it was more complicated. The USA in contrary gave its unconditionnel support and was a healthy nation in contrary to the USSR.
