Imagine having so many foreign military bases and such a massive military budget and a militarized police force but yet not being able to protect your critical infrastructure....

@camperino The U.S spends way more than its European counterparts but yet every European power grid is protected. They even set perimeters. In Belgium they have 5 different organisations: Elia, TSO, CREG, CwAPE, and Brugel, in addition to the federal police and military... So no, it is possible.

@FoolOfATuque Having a big country shouldn't be an excuse to have a fragile infrastructure, especially from a first world nation that proclaims to be a superpower.

The attack took place in the city of San Francisco, California, and was carried out by a disgruntled former employee of the Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E)........ It isn't really a new thing

@LisaHumble That's why public-private partnerships have been suggested for a long time. Besides, it is the still the government's job to protect it. Especially for infrastructure like this.

@whiskybooze I didn't study to become a security advisor but sure, let's look at it logically: -implementing harder security standards and regulations, conducting regular audits and compliance checks. -Creation of public-private partnerships to facilitate information sharing and collaboration.
