You forgot to mention the sanctions are already having holes: -Russian oligarchs are buying passports from Malta to evade sanctions. -Europe is buying oil and gas. - Shell for example is making a "Latvian mix" so they can buy Russian oil.

@batfurs3001 It is possible to decrease it, Europe can start buying from other countries like Algeria, Azerbeidzjan, Kazachstan or start using coal again. The Netherlands has one of the biggest gasfields in Europe and is thinking about using it again. There is a lot of room for improvement.

@timtams_6 Europe has plenty of coal to survive the period,meanwhile we can build more ports for LNG from the Middle East and the USA, invest in renewable energy. European countries are all full with coal.

@md.mizanurrahman4949 The other countries did it by their choice, they are sovereign countries that can decide their own future. Just like India can choose if it buys Russian oil or not. If Russia keeps attacking its neighbours,more countries will come to NATO. There is a reason why they're coming to NATO.

@mismahaella2403 I know, but in Italy for example, it will make a huge difference. They are now signing a treaty and if everything goes well, Algeria will be the majority supplier of Gas for Italy. Edit: grammatical mistake

@mismahaella2403 The other countries do have the infrastructure, only Algeria doesn't. Italy pledged to invest in Algerian infrastructure to solve that.
