  5.  @jjefferyworboys8138  But they are a huge part of ethical conduct and given the power that politicians wield, the role of ethics in politics is essential to earning trust from the people, especially when it comes to honest and ethical elections. Principles count in the long run. Eg. the recent election in the US; the patent lack of ethics and principles displayed by the Democrats has led to such a resounding collapse into defeat that it will be generations before the Dems will be considered for power again, if ever. Same in the UK for both Tories and Labour. Tories gave conservatism a bad name and Starmer's lot are labour in name only (LINOs).
