  2.  @skootergirl22  Most pensioners don't have savings and if they have any, they've gone without to scrape a small few quid together for an emergency, like needing shoes or winter clothing, or an unexpected bill. Talk sense.

  3.  @skootergirl22  So you're upset that the elderly, many of whom are also sick and/or disabled, get barely enough to survive? Ask one elderly pensioner when they last went on holiday. Or went to a restaurant, or even out for a cheap meal?

  4. I understand that Starmer has a budget of over £800Billion. What is £1Billion in that? Cancelling the pensioner's WFA and causing deaths is obscene. Is a pensioner's life not even worth £300? It's obscene.

  12.  @skootergirl22  I suggest a careers workshop to get to know your strengths and weaknesses and what you like to do. Everyone is different, so it makes sense to zero in on what comes most naturally to you. Self knowledge leads to confidence. I did a monthlong careers workshop when my youngest went off to school and found out I was best at people, paper (especially writing) and phones. I started at entry level market research surveying and ended up as a commodities negotiator. I loved working, being with people and getting things done so I capitalised on that, and made enough to support myself and my daughter, until cancer intervened and I had to retire and concentrate my remaining energies on supporting an elderly parent with disabilities. If you can make a start, you can build up slowly and eventually find your niche. I know of one neuro-divergent person who is a bit socio-phobic, who earns some money as a home-knitter for a company which sells handknits to the well off.
