  1. How different things would be if Israel had made it a priority to respect and integrate with the Palestinians, starting in 1947. It is extraordinary to me the Zionist tendency to push the Palestinian people off their land, where they have been living for nearly two millennia, and then think the Palestinians would not object and fight back. Surely it is an inherent human right to defend the land where we were born and have lived for eons? My nation, the Irish, suffered a similar fate, but we have outlasted the English sense of entitlement to rule the world. Besides, the Irish are a feisty lot! Over my lifetime I have seen the British Isles integrate Irish, West Indian, African and Jewish and Arab people, with varying degrees of success. I have lived in Ireland, England, America, France and visited even more countries, and met all sorts of people from the four corners of the earth, and all of them responded well to respect and kindness. Just human respect and consideration. I've met all sorts of people and all of them want to be treated like human beings, with a few notable exceptions. Without that fundamental human quality, is a stable, functional state even possible? I think about the current war between Israel and Palestine. Israel's drive for total dominance or even elimination of the Palestines altogether is getting in the way of their own desires for a homeland. So ironic... But the Palestinians have a right to live too, you know. Are the Israelis so traumatised by their experiences in WW2, at the hands of the Nazis, that they can't see that they are doing the same thing to the Palestinians? And really the Palestinians didn't seek or create the mess they are in.
