  1. It seems a bit like the mother is trying to get money from you using Kira's illness as an excuse. I don't trust her mother. Something doesn't add up, here. Would she spend the money she gets from you for Kira, to pay her debts? I don't know, but I feel she is using you.

  2. Well, it would be the perfect set-up to take Alexi's earnings from his music, put them on Anna's card, and throw Alexi and his wife a few roubles. Anyone who would do that probably has no conscience, and their clever lies are evidence of that. But, to get him kicked out of his apartment is completely heartless, especially as they are expecting a child. As we say, 'they were easy meat'. And when you caught them out they dumped Alexi and his wife, homeless, pregnant and without paying them properly, and also went around telling lies about Alexi to spoil his life. Are Anna and her 'husband' crooks? I think so. Shame on them.

  8. And it's terrible for children to see their mother suffering also. I remember when our father went off and left us homeless and penniless, and I watched my mother's one pair of shoes wear down so far I thought she'd end up walking in her bare feet to visit our youngest sister in hospital where she nearly died from whooping cough and pneumonia. Our mother was so good, and she deserved better, but all she got was hardship. God rest her soul.

  16. As a recovering alcoholic, I can confirm that one drink is too many and a thousand aren't enough! So it's the first drink is the one that does the damage. I've been sober for 37 years by living one day at a time. So let go and let God help you. You too can be happy, joyous and free. Life will get better and better. Much Love to you all.

  17. I agree with you that it is best to start from where your are now and make the best of it. I had a TBI in a traffic accident and had severe short term memory problems for about two years afterwards. I also lost the 'index page' to a lot of earlier memories and it was devastating at first. I had to write down a lot of things to remember them and I had problems remembering what I was in the middle of saying. I wasn't able to work for about a year and then gradually got back to something like normal. I no longer had the eidetic memory I once had but my memory slowly got better and better. I had to let go of who I had been and start making the most of my recovery and embrace who I had become. So I just plowed ahead and adapted to the new me. Five years later I was fully recovered except I couldn't handle the same levels of stress and work I once had and my eidetic memory never fully returned. I adapted to my new normal.

  23. I live in a village in the West of England, and our only through bus to the two nearest towns, (both about 10 miles away in opposite directions) was axed earlier this month. We have no way to get to the hospital, school, work or to shop. This is modern day 2022...

  25. It would be even worse if Sergei and others didn't care for him. Don't think your efforts for Lasha are wasted; they are NOT wasted. You are helping him to stay connected even that little bit. He strikes me as a very sensitive intelligent soul who appreciates you. I notice you are able to communicate with him better than the first time. The neighbour lady is correct - he should be cared for in a facility. Somewhere he could be kept on appropriate medication, fed and washed and then left in peace.

  26. I feel that Anna DID care about Grandmother Lida, but Anna's mother is in charge and may have left Lida to die. I feel sorry for Anna, because her mother is holding onto Anna too to use her and suck the life out of her also. Anna is trapped.

  46. I've been sober since March 1986. Alcoholics Anonymous saved my life and my sanity. The first step is to admit that we are powerless over alcohol and that our lives had become unmanageable. Step two, we came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. Third step, made a decision to turn our will and our life over to the care of God as we understood Him. You can probably learn more about AA online. I've been in AA for 43 years and it took me about four or five years to have my last drink. Alcoholism is a mental, physical and spiritual disease that tells you you haven't got it. It is cunning, baffling and powerful. If we can be honest with ourselves, we have some chance of recovery, so long as we don't pick up the first drink. That's the drink that leads to all the others. One drink is too many and a thousand drinks are not enough. I pray for all the sufferers of this hideous and killing disease. Russia needs AA and I hope, Sergei, that you can research this spiritual program and fellowship and somehow bring it to suffering alcoholics in Russia.
