  6.  @bluedasher74  She did not beg him for refuge, She asked him in 1993 for a house on the estate to use as a weekend palce for her and the boys, but Charles could not give her the house she wanted, and when he offered other houses, she turned him down.

She said that she had only met him about 12 times, and implied that she did not know him well, but it did not stop her from saying yes to his proposal. She claimed later that he had not been an affectionate boyfriend but she still said yes to him.

The C of E said that they would be OK with the separation provided the couple focussed on their children, which they did and avoided affairs, which they did not. How could you have a royal couple lviing apart, seeing other lovers and then crown them king and queen>?

  17. Charles wasnt' that good at taking advice either. Some of his friends have said that they told him they weren't sure Diana was the right girl for him and he went ahead and married her. Hegot very annoyed with a lady who told him she didnt think his interview was a good idea.  @marigold6920

  37. stop being silly. the queen worked out a compromise for Marg years ago, but M did not take it. by the 1980s, divorce was increasingly common and it was considered ok for the RF to get divorces.

  44. dont be silly. Diana was not asking Charles S to sepnd the summer at Althorp, she wanted to rent a house for weekends, and when she could not have the house she watned she abandoned the idea. It would not have prevented her from going abroad for her holidays.
