@Celisar1 of course she had partly finnancail motivations for the fling. She just didn't think the affair would go on indeifnitely, that Edward woudl marry and she'd retire with some jewellery

@Babesinthewood97 She wasn't crazy about marrying him, she woudl prefer to be his mistress and Ernests wife. But when she was puhsed into agreeing to marriage she certainly wanted as much money as she could get her hands on

@abbatrouble Wallis was not IMO particularly intelligent and her fascination factor for Edward was her personaltiy. She ewas domineering and he liked that up to a point. There were times he got hurt or fed up by it.

@douglasruessavel5547 Good lord it is nearly 100 years between the two things. Do you not realise that social rules change over time? The C of E does permit divorced couples to remarry and does not ban them.

@Chuck0856 true but there was a saying that the upper classes didn't mind hte divorces so much but they didn't like her being an American.. while the working classes didn't approve of her divorces.
