Here in the UK, the term "Thatcherite" was coined in the 1980s to demean her supporters. I wore the insult as a badge of merit.

@pat36a In 1914, Kaiser Wilhelm referred to the British Army as a "contemptible little army". Four years later, that contemptible little army destroyed his Wehrmacht. The original soldiers of 1914 described themselves as the "old contemptibles" as a badge of pride.
