  1. Imagine a horse race like the Grand National. One of the entrants is a fat bloke riding a three-legged donkey. Amazingly, the fat rider and his three-legged donkey win the race. Not because they're any good, but because every other horse fell over, broke a leg and lost its rider. Keir Starmer is the fat bloke riding a three-legged donkey. Starmer and his donkey will win the next GE, not because he's deserving or he's any good, but because all the other parties have already fallen and destroyed themselves before the finish.
