  1. A considered and intelligent comment, HR. Perhaps the statue should've remained in its damaged condition, as with many buildings in Whitehall which retain the scars of wartime bombing. Or Berlin's Reichstag, with its Soviet wartime graffiti preserved. Restoring a paedophile's depiction of an adult with a naked child sends the wrong message. The damage should remain visible for all to see.
