Scotland blames the English like some black folk blame waycism. Gotta blame somebody else for what they themselves fooked up.

@williwonkah.9242 Finland funds its state with its own taxpayers. Scotland funds its state with English taxpayers. Hence a bloated enlarged Scottish state sector, paid for by the English. Scotland couldn't become independent without sacking half its workforce.

@Looshfarmer If socialists understood economics, they wouldn't be socialists. If the SNP understood economics, they'd remain in the Union. If the SNP understood "independence", they wouldn't want to become a tiny puppet province on the far edge of the European superstate.

@williwonkah.9242 I'll wait until the weekend and enjoy several. Here's a story about the Queen Mum, when she visited South Africa and was shaking hands with dignitaries. One elderly grizzled Afrikaner said to the Queen Mum, "I've never forgiven the English for what they did to my people". Imagine the shock of the other dignitaries, until the Queen Mum replied, "We Scots feel exactly the same way". Smiles all around. Winston Churchill once said, "Diplomacy is the art of telling people to go to hell, in such a way as they look forward to the journey". I reckon the Queen Mum did a good job, and honour was satisfied all round.

@oldskoolordie Here's why having "devolved powers" doesn't work in Scotland's interests. The SNP doesn't want devolved powers. It demands full independence. That's why Scotland is completely fooked up. The SNP can't demand independence unless devolution has already failed.

@williwonkah.9242 It's BRITISH oil and gas (apart from the Norwegian bits), not Scottish. If Scotland was independent in the 1970s and said, "It's OUR oil", the French would've moved in with their navy. Not a lot the Scots could've done about it, not having their own navy. Which is British.

@williwonkah.9242 The English and Scots knocked seven shades of sh!te out of each other for a thousand years. The Scots still call the English "Sassenachs", a corruption of the word "Saxon". Eventually England won. A thousand years later, the Scots need to get over it. We're stronger together, end of.
