  1. There was a Norwegian music hall comic during WW2. After his country was occupied by the Germans, he continued making satirical stage routines about the occupation, the rationing and the Nazis. He was arrested and imprisoned as a warning, but released when the Nazis believed he'd understood his peril. He went back on stage after his release, to a theatre filled with ordinary members of the public, collaborationists and Nazis. Everybody wanted to see how imprisonment had changed the man's comedy. The comic strode onto the stage, turned to the audience and gave a grand one-armed Hitler salute. All the Nazis and collaborators cheered. The comic said, "That's how high my dog jumped last night". Uproarious laughter from the patriots. Keep sticking it to 'em, Andrew. You're a f*ckin' hero. WE SALUTE YOU. And anybody who hates you is a Nazi or worse.

  2. Andrew deserves slots on GB News, for comic interludes. (EDIT : I previously wrote "comic relief", but that could have been misunderstood.) "Private Eye" magazine has sold out to the BBC. We need genuine, authentic satire and criticism of the establishment. You can't get that from anybody who wants a job with the mainstream broadcasters. Andrew is fresh, original and untainted by any association with controlled comedy. Bless him.

  7.  @davidbetts9332  Hislop undoubtedly makes more money from the BBC than he's ever made from his magazine. The BBC bought him, and control the narrative of the UK's number one anti-establishment platform. Islam murdered the journalists at Charlie Hebdo, but Private Eye sits in comfort by supporting the establishment's narrative.
