  1. Bond needs to be a white heterosexual male. No harm in creating a SECOND character to extend the franchise. No harm in creating "008" as a black female spy. Use the same "Bond universe", in the same way the Marvel movies are interconnected. Bond smashes his Aston, and in the next movie, Q is showing a gadget to 008. She points at the wrecked Aston and asks, "What happened there?" Q replies, "It doesn't matter, but make sure YOU return YOUR kit in better condition". Similarly, 008 might be waiting outside M's office as Bond leaves in a huff. Bond himself needs to be a cool, fornicating, wise-cracking killer on Her Majesty's service. Wanna mess with that? Extend the franchise, but don't mess with Bond himself. 'Cos everything woke turns to sh*t.
