  1. I rubbed shoulders with Mr Fraser in the early 1990s, when we were both Young Conservatives. A straight-up damned good bloke. Pro-Brexit decades before the term was invented. Both he and I also rubbed shoulders with John Bercow. Fiercely intelligent, but Bercow's narcissism was completely sky-high. At that time, Bercow pretended to be a libertarian anti-EEC activist. He'd do ANYTHING to advance himself and be the centre of attention.
