  1. The ship was presumably heading towards or from Rome. The shape of the amphora (jars) is always unique to the region of origin. Certainly trading within the Roman world.

  3.  @HamidIsmail-fc7jk  Amphora would usually contain wine or oil. The amphora and their contents would be sold. The value of the cargo would be the wine or oil. A bit like crates of tea in the 18th century. Empty amphora wouldn't normally be taken back afterwards.
