History Debunked

Comments by "Ray Purchase" (@raypurchase801) on "English Heritage promote fake history for Black History Month" video.
The greatest black man in British history is King Gezo of Dahomie, who ordered that at his funeral, hundreds of slaves should be beheaded with their blood funnelled into a pit, to float his coffin-canoe. This horrific event was witnessed by British merchants, who reported back to London. This led to the Royal Navy being tasked with destroying the slave trade worldwide. Will English Heritage mention this? No chance.

@paulclothier2583 Haha - how true! Also, many of the slaves who were rescued from the slave ships begged the British sailors NOT to return them to Africa, where they'd immediately be hunted and enslaved again. They knew black people in British colonies were free, and wanted to be taken to British ports in Africa or the Caribbean.

@trevormcdonald385 We should celebrate the fact that the British did more to destroy the slave trade than any other nation on Earth. Refusing to acknowledge this is a distortion of the truth. English Heritage is using lies, omissions and half-truths to provide a false account.

@atmywitsend1984 Plenty of horrific events in British history, plenty of civil wars and uprisings, plenty of burnings and ear-cuttings, but hacking heads off HUNDREDS of people to fill a pit with blood is beyond the pale, even for William the Conqueror, Richard III or Henry VIII. But hey, let's blame white people.
