  2.  @c.greystone9825  Walking among the great buildings of Westminster resembles the stonework of the Mayan, Aztec and ancient Egyptians. The stones remain, the the great civilisation which created the buildings has destroyed itself.

  5.  @TommyAtkins-bd5ky  Early humans first arrived in the British Isles about 750,000 years ago. Their stone tools have been discovered in silt deposits which definitely date from this time. No human bones from that time have yet been discovered. The first nomadic inhabitants retreated south when the ice age arrived, but later returned.
