True, but it was a wise move. It'd be suicidal if the UK & France declared war on BOTH Germany and the USSR at the same time.

Look up the Holodomor genocide (With thanks to Simon for correcting my spelling on a different video.) Soviet Russia murdered possibly as many as 10,000,000 Ukrainians, more than the number of Jews murdered by Hitler in his camps. That's why Ukraine didn't want Putin's Russia to dominate their country.

@JohnSmith-lo8cn There was sweet f*ck all which the UK and France could do against Soviet Russia. I'm sure there's something in the works of Sun Tzu, about carefully choosing which enemies to fight.

@ThermicLight The trades union movement in the UK sided with the USSR in 1939, because they saw the USSR as an ideal state and a workers' paradise. If the UK and France had declared war on both the Soviets and Germany, the war might've had a different outcome.

@Who.Knew-The.Salt.MustFlow The British were in a hell of a predicament in 1939. The trades unions wanted to stay out of the war altogether. At that time, Germany and the USSR were allies. Declaring war on Germany was bad enough, declaring war on both Germany and the Soviets might've led to a general strike. Yes, seriously.
