@bonsummers2657 I was a kid in the 1960s and 70s. There was a councillor in my town, VERY famous locally, sometimes seen on national TV, a newspaper journalist, a pillar of society, gave assistance at gymnasiums and clubs for boys. It was widely known he was a child-molester but somehow everybody looked the other way. End of the 1970s, he was eventually tried in court for attempting indecent acts with a group of boys. The trial was ended because some of the boys started crying in the dock or their stories didn't match. Funny thing: I knew their stories were true, because they exactly matched the way this predator tried to seduce me a few years earlier. But I got away.
