Interesting to hear Simon's accounts about British mutinies after WW1. The British mutinies occurred because the servicemen had won the war, and just wanted to be demobbed and go home. These mutinies occurred AFTER the end of hostilities, whereas mutinies in the armed forces of the OTHER major powers occurred whilst the war was still in progress.

@dickturban8706 Yes. Haley was successfully sued for copying large chunks from another black man's unsuccessful novel. Haley argued his plagiarism was justified because his novel still represented the "truth". So the greatest black history book ever written is plagiarised fiction.

@ThePalaeontologist Nice to read your detailed account. The Russians and the Germans suffered catastrophic mutinies. The French mutiny was nearly catastrophic, but the British held the line. The British didn't mutiny until AFTER the war, when they said (paraphrased) "F*ck this, we've won the war, now let's just f*ckin' go home".

@clemalford9768 You're 100% correct. Clay/Ali saw injustices in the 1960s USA and became a full-on anti-American rebel. Opposing those injustices was warranted. Becoming a Muslim was fashionable among blacks at that time.
