@candy-le4nh The word "democracy" comes from ancient Athens. Democracy in ancient Athens only applied to a tiny group of Athenian males. Four-fifths of males in Athens were slaves or denied the vote. Democracy as we know it today was invented by the Anglosphere and modern Europe.

@candy-le4nh Every part of the modern world which functions properly does so because of British influence. To see this for yourself, compare Australia, New Zealand and Canada with the Spanish-speaking world. To be fair, many British values were inherited from the Dutch after the Glorious Revolution of 1688, and much of the "white man's burden" has been carried by the USA since 1945. With mixed results.
