In the 1970s, labour chancellor Dennis Healey promised he'd squeeze the wealthy until their "pips squeaked" and adopted a 99% tax rate. Tax revenues from the wealthiest crashed. The way to generate more tax is by growing the economy. Nothing else has ever worked. Ever. But if socialists understood economics...
