@ProfessorTimWilson Hey Prof Tim - I don't know whether you'd describe yourself as irght wing or elft wing. It doesn't matter. I recall Tony Benn speaking very vociferously (the video's on YT) about the importance of liberty, sovereignty and free speech. We all stand together on this.

@nickryder9669 Doesn't matter whether George was ever here. He was accepted by the English as a hero because of his Christian courage. Similarly, lions aren't native to England but they symbolise strength and valour.

@damianjoseph3837 Historians refer to the Anglo Saxon era rather than English, to distinguish it from the English era after 1066. By the 7th century onwards, the invaders were simply "English". The Angles were themselves invaders, but I'm prepared to let bygones be bygones..

@nickryder9669 I couldn't give a damn whether George lived here or not. He is respected for his courage and integrity.

@angelaregan475 The big German push through the trenches in March 1989 had the codenames George and Michael. Decades later, a wannabe pop star thought, "Hmm, I want a name which resonates with pushing hard through brown mud".
