A Nightmare on Downing Street. Lots of sequels, each more horrific than the first. Starring Rishi Sunak, not the original actor, John Englund.

Same here. I'm also frightened of Mickey Mouse now that he's gay.

Lots of crossover of genres, but you're correct. Is "Galaxy Quest" sci fi, a comedy or an adventure movie?
3
Haha!
3
I've listed some of those in my own comment. The original "Frankenstein" with Karloff and "Dracula" with Lugosi still give me shivers.
3
Always high on the list of the best horror movies. But the first half drags a bit. Too much flannel which is extraneous to the plot.
3
@deepzepp4176 All true.
3
@bradensmith8682 Lots of sequels on the way.
3
@charleshowarth1 Very true. Somehow, certain films are scarier in black and white. I wonder whether the Al Gore rhythms will cancel this reply, for using the words black and white. I once had a YT warning message, for using the word for a female dog, 'cos it was h8 speech. This was on a video about dogs.

Nobody's mentioning "The Omen" with Gregory Peck.
2
@silverjohn6037 I've never read the book. Stephen King is said to have disliked Kubrick's version of his novel, but that's immaterial. Maybe Shakespeare would dislike Prokofiev's ballet version of his play.
2
@silverjohn6037 Tremors was funny as well as frightening!
2
@silverjohn6037 I love the subplot about the well-armed survivalists.

"In space, no one can hear you poop".

@annatardlordofderps9181 By Grabthar's Hammer, you're correct!
1
Horror films: The Night of the Demon, The Devil Rides Out and Poltergeist. Sci fi: The Terminator, The Day the Earth Stood Still (original version), The Martian. Set in the future: Waterworld, The Day the Earth Caught Fire. REMINDER: Fahrenheit 451 + 1984 - 2023.
1
Best murder films: Psycho, American Psycho and Hannibal.
1
ONLY HORROR FILM WHICH I WILL NOT WATCH AGAIN: Event Horizon. Feckin frightened me too much.
1
The Omen. The original Gregory Peck version, not the remake.
1
Some of those aren't horror films. Same with the list of movies discussed by the panel.
1
@Archie.Fisher Good film but not a horror. Same with Psycho, American Psycho, Jaws, Waterworld and Alien.
1
@Archie.Fisher True, genres overlap. To me, "horror" means ghosties and ghoulies, vampires and werewolves, gotta be supernatural. Some overlap into zombies.
1
@Archie.Fisher Some genres overlap. The Bond movies aren't actually about espionage. Same with "Where Eagles Dare". Espionage at the core of the plot, but it's more about shoot 'em up.
1
@claudetteh67 Gregory Peck's "The Omen". Not the remake.
1
Are you also known as 2tone? He usually leaves comments with "Ay up".
1
Sci fi rather than horror.
1
@Shisha2025 Lots of overlap. For me, "horror" is usually supernatural: Werewolves, Satanism, vampires, ghosts and ghoulies, zombies too. Put it on a space ship and it's sci fi, but lots of overlap. "Psycho" is a crime/murder movie first, a horror movie secondarily I've rewatched the 1980s movie "Outland", with Sean Connery. Maybe sci fi, but underneath it's "High Noon" in space.
