  1. I recall the story of the submarine HMS Thule. During WW2, it delivered arms and explosives to the resistance who were fighting the Japanese. The British knew that those weapons might be used against themselves after the war. They only supplied explosives with a short shelf-life in warm damp jungle conditions. The guns had weak firing pins and would quickly self-destruct.
