  1. We have a saying in Dutch: "Als je door de poort van Den Haag loopt heb je boter op je hoofd", it roughly translates into "If you walk though the gate in The Hague you get corrupted by power" . We've seen idealist, real fire starters and rebels in politics walk through those ancient gates, full of plans. But one's inside the well established Machiavelli-ian apparatus wears them down, and does so quickly, and they make concessions they wouldn't have thought possible before. It takes real conviction, real determination to stay true to your original ideals one's you walk through those gates and Bernie Sanders is that guy, that very rare example of a determined rebel and true reformer.
