  1. Do they ?! I thought they didn't care for their former Monarch and the Monarchy in general, but if this is the way they feel, why not reinstate the institution of Monarchy in Romania ?

  2. marco antonio godoy We Dutch are a Democracy but we've got His Majesty King Willem-Alexander van Oranje-Nassau King of the Kingdom of the Netherlands as our head of state, it isn't a problem, infact, it's an added bonus. It works the same in: The Kingdom of Belgium The Kingdom of Spain The Kingdom of Sweden The Kingdom of Denmark The Kingdom of Norway The United Kingdom of Britain The Grant-Duchy of Luxembourg The Principality of Monaco The Principality of Andorra Only the Principality of Liechtenstein and the Vatican⬅(Kingdom/Principality/Papal Citystate) are different in this. No reason why Romania can't join the first club and still be a Democracy if the citizens of Romania wish it by an majority, maybe it will help close the books on two recent historical pages,....who knows, it might be cathartic.

  3. ArDee I agree but with the exception of the British Monarchy,....it's too distant from its people in real life (only for photo ops) unlike The Dutch, Swedish, Danish, etc Monarchies.

Biciclind cu Axel I'm sure there's a resentment there,...there are more countries with a hatred of the British because the Brits sold them out or betrayed them,....Poland, Ireland, Spain, Greece, etc, etc. But, why chose to lingere, you know the best revenge is having it good and looking the part, do what is good for Romania, forget about the British.

  5. marco antonio godoy Those are issues of the past, we don't see a problem with any of them, it's a new day. If we let ourselves resort to old yesterday issues then the British can make the case why we Dutch attacked them a few times in history and why we sank their fleet taking their capital ships including the Prince of Wales as war booty, destroyed a few towns or occupied parts of the UK including London after the battle of Medway to eventually put a Dutch Prince on their thrown and made him King of England. The Indonesians, the South-Africans, Papua New Guinea, Timor, Surinam, Sri-Lanka, parts of Brazil and New York (one's New Amsterdam) can blame us Dutch for colonising them and subjugation under our rule,....it's ancient history and we're sorry for it, we've already apologised alot to them. Sure, we still own Aruba, Curaçao, Bonair, Saba Sint-Maarten and St Eustace as part of the Dutch Kingdom but they are happy to be still part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. But the rest is history,...it's in the past, don't see why we need to bring it up, again, we're sorry for what we did, we're sorry for our role in slavery too. It's a new day.
