The Journalist had a blue Whitehouse pass so he definitely had access to the West Wing while most Journalist that attend the Whitehouse pressroom only have the grey one that doesn't give them access to anywhere but the pressroom and a few adjacent offices from it. Mr Wolf was at that time 1 of only 3 Journalist with a Blue pass, giving more credence to his story because he definitely did have access to the West Wing for over 1.5 years and to Trump's inner circle.
