  1. The Islands aren't disputed. During WW2 the Japanese lost those Islands to Russia, they've since that time being recognised as Russian sovereign territory by the majority of the globe including the USA. So, it's been clear ever since then,....only the Japanese Prime-Minister Shinzo Abbe (whom still hasn't openly disclosed family ties to Toyo the Minister responsible for getting Japan into WW2) wants it back,....but legally or internationally there's no dispute about the status of those Islands being Russian territory. Get with it Euronews, c'mon, Google it before you report blatantly inaccurate stuff.
