The logistics were impossible,...not to mention other Navies had beaten them off the shores of England and in their own ports and rivers even. Battle of Medway for example. (No, not Midway, that's many centuries later and two different countries were involved in that one)

  14.  @fossils-z9d  Yeah, but a British Navy there would have attracted the Royal Dutch Navy's attention,...whom owned Indonesia, Timor and Sri-Lanka and the French Navy whom owned Vietnam and parts of Cambodia. Imagine sailing battle scared after a huge Chinese pirate fleet did it's damage regardless of the outcome and running into either one of those,...GAME OVER.⬅no two ways about it. I think the British admiralty wasn't that suicidal.

  15.  @fossils-z9d  The Brits never sail up any Dutch port,....ever. We put the hurt on them like they never had seen before,...and it never got even. Only with the help of the French did the Brits manage a stalemate one's against the Dutch, never on their own.
