Why is everything a rally for you guys? You can't get actual work done at a rally. Put 10 substantial people around a table, now you can get something done. Let's start drafting those amendments! ππ½π

Feb 2023, a school district near Pensacola Florida banned "And Tango makes three" about a true story of two penguins in the Central Park Zoo who cared for a baby penguin not their own. They believed that the children's book was encouraging homosexuality. Sad, right? Violating the first amendment. Children's books are pornography, really?Angry at penguins? π§ Isn't it embarrassing to associate yourself with this crowd? I'm sure you will free yourself from this cult soon. Good luck.π½π§π½

Adams was a republican. He changed to a democrat because very few republicans get elected in NYC. He has no affordable housing plan for NYers because he wants real estate interests to love him and fund his next campaign. He is an embarrassment to NYC. I cannot wait to vote him out. π½

There is a value to keeping experienced public servants who actually know how to govern. The voters are supposed to be the ones who "fire" Congressional representatives who can't do the job anymore. However, a democracy depends upon an informed citizenry. Years of starving public schools and failure to prioritize civics and accurate history instruction has denied voters the critical foundation they need to take voting responsibilities seriously. Governing is an actual job, and not everyone is good at it. Experience is a good thing. Voters decide when it's time to go.

Amendments to the Constitution are a good thing. The framers intended for the Constitution to grow with the nation.

The ugly storm came in the 2000s. The sunset of the crime bill/assault weapons ban (2004), the Heller opinion (2008), and the worst of all, Bush signs PLCAA to shield gun manufacturers from liability for the damage caused by their grotesquely dangerous products. Look at the statistics and you will see when incidents start to spike. Gun manufacturers rake in profit with impunity, and since fear sells guns, they are not worried as the public becomes more and more anxious. Comprehensive federal gun safety legislation is overdue, because state to state flimsy gun laws are clearly not working. Repeal PLCAA to restore liability to gun manufacturers, and their own lawyers will insist on gun safety protocols at point of sale to demonstrate due diligence in court proceedings. Let's get to work. ππ½π

He has released a firehose of executive orders to overwhelm the people and to overwhelm journalists' ability to get information out to the public. You cannot report 300 stories simultaneously, so they're hoping things will be missed under the piles of paper he has produced. What he is doing is not hard work. Several of these orders are illegal and unconstitutional. Don't be overwhelmed by the firehose. βοΈπ½βοΈ

Our biggest embarrassment is the way we have allowed our civics instruction and accurate history curriculum to erode. Uninformed voters who were unable to spot a demagogue, likely a bit shaky on critical thinking, allowed those gaps to impact their ability to vote effectively. A democracy depends upon an informed citizenry. We must stop starving public schools and rebuild historical knowledge and critical thinking. This is a Sputnik moment to make sure that another pumpkin head is never elected again. πππππ

Β @mobilusinmobili8321Β Wow, angry much??? This is Texas legislation. Maybe check with Texas if you want a full text of their legislation. The "making Texas a gun sanctuary state" nonsense happened around Sept 2021. Abbott wasn't shy about signing those bills, turned it into a big photo op so I'm surprised you missed it. Not sure when Texas passes their state budget, but the reduced mental health funding was included in their budget probably fiscal year 21-22? When the Uvalde tragedy occurred, May 2022, the cuts in Texas mental health funding were mentioned frequently in all the coverage. Again, I'm surprised you missed it. The federal gun safety legislation that Senator Murphy passed in the aftermath of Uvalde has some mental health services in it. Federal govt trying to help when Texas doesn't want to bother? You're welcome.

It is important to get this SCOTUS amendment drafted and get the conversation started. Ratification requires 38 states, not easy but not impossible. Let's get the process started; Speaker Jefferies is on the horizon!! We are very overdue for new amendments to our Constitution. The amendment that granted voting rights to 18 year olds was ratified in approximately four months. Let's get this done! Then we can move on to other needed amendments, especially an amendment that enshrines a right to public safety in the Constitution, as a much needed balance to the often misinterpreted second amendment. And let's take another look at the ERA as a way of protecting all of a woman's human rights, especially reproductive healthcare. Go President Biden go! Go Constitution go! ππππ
1
See you at the ballot box. New House majority with Speaker Jefferies is coming soon! Then we will see legislation moving again. ππππ
1
Sometimes this "republic" stuff is used as "states rights" argument was used in the civil rights era. Don't fall for the distractions, vote! πππ¬ππ. Up and down the ballot to rebalance gerrymandered state legislatures, for the appointment of judges, etc. Go Kamala go! π

Immigration legislation is absolutely the responsibility of the Congress. That's why Abbott's attempt to interfere as a governor is so problematic. He receives funds from the INS already as a border state for immigrant resettlement. Not sure what he is doing with those funds. Abbott is doing this for media attention, and because he doesn't know how to govern. His gun policy points to his lack of skills as well. Congress absolutely has to do their job. Even John McCain crafted immigration legislation, and the GOP voted it down. Updated immigration legislation now! This is not the 1980s. π½

Really? Breaking the system is the plan? Sounds very MAGA to me. Shame. ππππ

Vote for green energy, reproductive healthcare, gun safety, sufficient funding for our ailing public school system producing uneducated voters and underpaid teachers. Vote like our democracy depends upon it, because It does.ππππ
1
There are several green energy options. Continuing to rely on fossil fuels is completely unsustainable. How much more FEMA money do we have to spend on fossil fuel CEOs enrichment? How many more wildfires, tornados, hurricanes? You know it is unsustainable. Those who refuse to explore green energy are on the wrong side of history. πππππ And you also know that the GOP is owned by oil and gas and they will never vote for green energy, or USA based manufacturing, or strengthening NATO, or support for unions and the working class, or for a fair tax code that will rebalance our budget deficits as billionaires contribute fairly, rather than always relying on making women and children even more impoverished than they are already. ππSee you at the ballot box.

Reverse trump's tax gift to his wealthy friends, virtually the only piece of legislation the grifter passed. The deficits started to balloon as soon as that tax bill came into effect. And then of course trump's fatal negligence on COVID, costing unimaginable funds and more than one million USA residents' lives. We cannot reverse all of his mistakes, but.... Reverse the tax mistake, tax the Uber wealthy.

Margin of victory was 1.5%. That is not anyone's definition of a mandate. Millions of USA voters did not vote for this. Challenge everything, resist everything, do not comply in advance. We do not have to live this way. Support local journalism and community based legal groups who can assist with challenges to the firehose of WH actions.

These guys were sprayed with bear spray and other chemicals for hours. The exertion of the hand to hand medieval combat was extreme. Many officers received head injuries, and the after effects of severe concussions are quite dangerous. So although that particular officer died the following day, there is no question that his death was related to the combat of Jan 6th. Doctors who were involved in his case made that medical determination. Do you have more familiarity with his case? Would you like to compare your medical degree with that of the attending physician? Did you examine the patient? Be respectful of the pain this law enforcement officer suffered, and the pain of his family after his passing.

Where did they get this gun safety focus group from? No one looked like they even wanted to be there. They said they wanted something to be done, then they said, better off if we don't do anything. What? And they have children. Do you care or not? Have you thought about gun safety or not? CBS, what were you thinking? This bunch just made your producers look incompetent. The second amendment has outlived its usefulness to the nation. I am beyond frustrated with the constant middle school arguments about "shall not be infringed" vs "well regulated". And this SCOTUS has no ability to interpret the Constitution beyond forcing us to live in the 1700s. Okay, muskets for all, I'm for it. Originalism is not the only school of constitutional interpretation, it's not even the best one. It's time to draft a new amendment to enshrine public safety in the constitution. The process of ratification will compel every state legislature to discuss gun safety laws and keep the issue front of mind. Instead of the disgusting thing we do now: thoughts and prayers, forget about it and do nothing until the next tragedy, rinse and repeat.

Methane production. The journalist should have said, "What do you mean by that?" That would force Cotton and the GOP to admit how he is controlled by big oil. Cotton in support of more tornadoes and wildfires. Support the planet and allow her to recover by changing some of the things we are doing. Your doctor will be pleased if you eat fewer cows. πππ¬ππ Go Kamala go!

True Americans know that the pumpkin headed grifter mismanaged the INS (Immigration and naturalization service) horribly for years, and it takes time to clean up that kind of mess. That's a big part of the reason that so many allies got stuck in Afghanistan because no one ever worked on their paperwork for years, then everyone was looking at a flood of everything during evacuation. That's not how a government agency should work. Same thing happened in the Department of Education with student loans. That's why billions in student loan forgiveness is starting to happen for people with paperwork that was ignored for years. Someone thought it would be fun to elect a con artist as president, and millions of voters fell for it. Vote carefully. π½πππ½

Abbott is doing this for media attention. Notice you don't see Arizona doing this as much, and they are a border state too. Abbott also loves to send buses without even a phone call, so that people are always surprised and caught unprepared. He wants that "hair on fire" crisis moment, and Adams is giving him exactly what he wants. Texas receives funds from the INS as a border state to assist with resettlement. How are those funds being spent? Let's see what an audit shows. And if Abbott wants NYC to assist with Texas resettlement, then he needs to share his ins funding. Thanks Abbott. π½

He actually did good work as an environmental lawyer. I don't understand why he left that profession. Now he's playing the role of spoiler in a very tight election. Do not vote for this troubled man.

Yes I am very intelligent. Go Kamala go. Prosecutor, district attorney, attorney general, Senator, and Vice President. Ready to serve. ππππ

Actually, lack of affordable childcare is an "us" problem, a societal issue. Affordable childcare increases the size of the workforce, and that benefits business and our economy. More importantly, quality childcare with quality early childhood educators who have been trained in their field provide early childhood education, not just babysitting. Early childhood education helps the entire society, because the most advantageous opportunity for learning is ages 0 thru 5. Early childhood education is the only way to maximize that extremely short window of opportunity. As a democracy, we must have informed citizens and voters who are adept at critical thinking. It's long overdue for the USA to concentrate on early childhood education and our faltering public school systems nationwide.

Remember all those years when our government was supporting horrible dictators in the hemisphere, telling us it was in our national interest to prop up these creeps who were mistreating their own people?? Now we want to pretend this has nothing to do with us?? Karma comes back. Yes, we are a part of the Western Hemisphere. Btw, remember the Monroe Doctrine, that thing you learned about in school? Let's do the work, draft updated immigration legislation, and clean up the mess. Get it done. π½

The proof of the numbers of UN workers killed is readily available. This conflict also has the highest number of journalists killed by conflict. Those numbers are readily available, and periodically reputable news sources refer to the deaths of journalists as part of their news package. When reputable news sources go in under IDF supervision, they indicate that in the preamble to their news story so that viewers understand that they are only showing the things that the IDF took them to see. Please use reliable news sources so that you can gain a greater understanding of the difference between "lies" and truth. Children are dying.

Bungling of INS and State paperwork by the pumpkin head also was a big part of the problems with the status of many Afghan allies who had been waiting for years for their papers to be approved, then got stuck there on those last hectic days.

25th amendment
1
This was a modern version of Lend Lease, and it was working. And it was creating jobs for USA workers. And it was the right thing to do, to defend allies against aggressors. Every nation in the globe sees and understands. We must ACT to end this nightmare. Huge numbers of cases filed are making their way through the courts. Let's add the 25 th amendment, and this public outburst is one of many pieces of evidence. Enough. π½ππ»ππ½
1
Not surprising to me that another nation doesn't enjoy having foreign troops on their soil, even if they are allies. By repeating the Lend Lease model, Ukrainian citizens see their own troops, not foreign tanks in their streets. And USA workers get the jobs in our factories. And it was working. Is that why agent orange does not want it?
