This case shows that whatever safety systems are being used now are not effective and have huge loopholes. This guy should have been flagged after two interactions with police.

NYPD also has an intense cyber unit. Needs to be nationwide, but only in conjunction with gun safety legislation.

Sandy Hook families awarded $75 million on their civil case. Other families have received awards too. I believe Buffalo families are organizing their cases. Repeal PLCAA, worse law ever signed by Bush, and perhaps criminal liability cases can begin. But families don't want civil cases. They want their family members back in their arms. What kind of nation are we if we don't stop this? Everyone knows that this has nothing to do with the second amendment.

@whereisjustice5112 The second amendment does not say what Scalia said in his 2008 opinion. Scalia was a bad justice, not a founding father. It seems to me that we are in a "never republican" voting moment, because this party is too toxic right now, and not interested in passing legislation. After SCOTUS finished its term, we now have a need for more legislation than ever, and we need healthy majorities to get it done. Republicans will never get this done.

@whereisjustice5112 I don't think all GOP voters are gun lovers and second amendment manipulators. (I'm a proud democratic voter, but maybe that was obvious 😎 )But I just don't think anyone should vote republican until that party cleans up their mess and elects new caucus leaders. McConnell and McCarthy are hard to trust, and they don't have a track record for passing legislation. Be well be safe, don't forget to vote. 💙🗽🎆🗽💙

Semantics is part of the problem, but not the central problem. The problem is the gun. A chaotic parade WITHOUT a gun yields a different narrative. No one is confused about that.

Remember who benefits if you convince yourself and others that government and the rule of law are hopeless. Repair SCOTUS, remove Mitch McConnell, choose a minority leader who knows how to negotiate and compromise, start passing legislation again. Gun dealers are the only ones who profit from a population enslaved by generalized anxiety and chaos.

@no.6243 I agree a caseworker and ongoing treatment would have been best, but I think the family dropped the ball a bit by not pressing charges at one of the earlier incidents? But it must be hard to press charges against a family member, so.... But it also seems that the Illinois state police dropped the ball, because the local police did post something prior to him buying the guns, so why didn't they see that and block the sale? Hope this doesn't turn into another situation where law enforcement messed up.
