GOP senators must be active in blocking unsuitable candidates. It's their job. This is their Profiles in Courage moment. They must do their job. Four GOP senators need to step up for each of the truly horrible nominees. Four. That's not a lot for the nation to ask.

This is a Sputnik moment that requires more focus on civics and accurate history curriculum so that voters truly understand what they are voting for. Unfortunately so many states are already starving their public schools and school boards have become very fraught places lately. I do believe that some states don't mind undereducated workers who are unlikely to unionize and will settle for low wages in dead end jobs. Sad. To avoid the reach of the state departments of education, a civics and history enrichment could work through non profits, after school programs and media. Kind of like a school house rock, but for all ages. A democracy depends upon an informed citizenry, and we just have to admit that we just don't have an informed citizenry right now. What if every voter could write a coherent essay to answer: What is a demagogue? Name demagogues from USA history.

We will resist, we will persist. Mid term elections in 2026. Not too soon to prepare. 60 Senators and House majority is the sweetest way to celebrate 250 years of DEMOCRACY. We will never give up on freedom, we will never give up on our Constitution. 60 Senators and House majority. 💙🗽⚖️🗽💙

Alaska's Senator Murkowski (sp?) and Senator Collins of Maine, plus perhaps Senator Ernst of Iowa due to her military background. I believe Utah has a Senator who is an Independent? Not sure. Stop being scared of the pumpkin head base and do your job.

Remember when the pumpkin head addressed the General Assembly at the United Nations, and there was audible laughter? Never again. This is our nation; vote carefully everyone. 🗽💙🌊🗽

Do not lose heart. Prepare for the midterm elections. 60 Senators and the House majority in 2026 will be a sweet way to celebrate 250 years of DEMOCRACY. Your brave son is loving you all now more than ever. Thank you for your amazing family. Stay strong, stay safe, stay awesome. 💙🗽⚖️🗽💙

A democracy depends upon an informed citizenry. The lesson we must all learn from this: we must support our teachers and our public schools. Really. And somehow in all the focus on testing for math and reading (necessary skills for sure), we have forgotten civics and accurate history curriculum. Education and critical thinking is beyond essential as we move forward from this painful time. VOTE. 📚💙🌊💙🌊📓

As a felon, he cannot pass a security clearance. Yet he would command our military? Really? How does that work if he doesn't have the clearance to review the documents? Many countries around the globe do not permit entry to felons. So how can he conduct foreign policy if he cannot visit with members of our treaty organizations? Vote carefully! 💙🌊💙🌊

Support the proposed Constitutional amendment to make it clear that presidents do not have immunity. No one in the USA is a king; no one is above the law. ⚖️🗽⚖️

Wow, super effective advertisement. I do remember November 2016. NYers definitely knew already what a nightmare the pumpkin head would be. We had already seen almost 50 years of him taking advantage of our city, especially in the 1970s and 80s when we were trying to recover from bankruptcy. That's why we could not believe that anyone would actually vote for the guy. Oh yes, I remember the morning after election day 2016. I was on the subway, and it felt like everyone, everyone, was on their way to a funeral. VOTE. No one stays on the sofa this time. No complacency. 🗽💙🌊⚖️💙🌊🗽

@Matt-Are-Gee I am glad to be of any help! Thank you for your feedback. I feel like I'm screaming into the wind. It's not too much to say that I'm brokenhearted. I'm hoping the ACLU and other non profit legal establishments are planning on working overtime. If we resist, if we challenge, if we appeal everything, that should at least slow all of this down and give us time to get back in and mitigate the harm with real legislation. Legislation is always stronger than executive orders. Staying active usually helps with anxiety and grief. I hope so!! Let's stay busy looking for the candidates and the votes we need to fix this. ⚖️ 🗽⚖️ Btw I promised myself I would stay off comments because they can be so toxic sometimes. Thank you again for your feedback.

@roxanneb6208 Thank you so much. I hope your Thanksgiving was lovely. Looking forward to midterm elections 2026! Go democracy! Make a contact list for some of your favorite representatives and stick with them like Velcro!! 💙🗽💙

Thank you for your service. The 2026 midterm elections are right around the corner. 60 Senators and the House majority so that we can repair the damage. Especially legislation for SCOTUS reform, and a new constitutional amendment. We need you, because you have the visceral memory of how quickly the amendment that granted the vote to 18 year olds was ratified. I believe it was approximately four months? Stay strong, stay awesome! Huzzah, 2026! We will resist, we will persist.

When we vote in large numbers, we win. Remember who wins the popular vote time after time. Now we just have to be disciplined, organized, strategic. No chaotic convention floor fight like 1968! Pay attention to history! 💙🌊💙🌊 Up and down the ballot to rebalance state legislatures that have been gerrymandered, for judges, for regaining the House, for an effective Speaker, for getting legislation passed again, for President Biden with a truly impressive legislative record. 🗽💙🌊💙🌊🗽 See you in November! We'll be the ones dancing in the streets! ⚖️💙⚖️

This is not a joke, this is our nation. Prepare for the 2026 mid terms now. 60 Senators and the House majority. Legislation for SCOTUS reform and other initiatives. We will resist. Our Constitution matters. 💙⚖️🗽⚖️💙

Thank you. Now it's time to prepare for the midterm elections. Time to keep it. The struggle never ends, unfortunately. 60 Senators and the House majority so that we have the votes we need to repair the damage. We especially need legislation to undo the horrific immunity opinion and other essential SCOTUS reform. Stay alert stay aware, stay awesome! 💙⚖️🗽⚖️💙

I have been a lifelong Democrat, always will be, but.... Just wanted to say, yes, the GOP is beyond damaged right now, but I think it can be repaired. In the name of progressives like Lincoln and trust buster Theodore Roosevelt, I think true Republicans can rebuild. It might be nice to see the GOP make a come back as a progressive party true to the actual roots of the first Republicans. However, it will take time. Voting GOP in this election cycle is an absolute threat to the nation. 🗽💙🌊💙🌊🗽

Important to stay unified and organized. Please tell everyone to pay attention to history, especially 1968. The chaos of the floor fight in the 1968 convention got us Nixon. Also, the classic cautionary tale about why third parties don't work in our system. I really like VP Harris, I think she has been amazing with reproductive healthcare and even has been working hard behind the scenes on immigration. But remember that VP Humphrey was supposed to step smoothly into LBJ 's role, but it didn't work that way, did it? Not another 1968 chaotic Democratic convention, in Chicago again no less. I'm not sure how much history has been banned from the textbooks in some states, but please learn the lessons of history, especially 1968. 🗽💙🌊🗽
