ngl, the modern Japanese mindset is so divorced from the ideas of their predecessors that idk that its necessarily crucial to teach about that part of history. I think they've really learned their lesson and they shouldn't be shamed for their grandparents' sins. A factual account is fine but there's no need to belabor Unit 731 and their actions throughout the East-asian seaboard. Same with the Germans in the concentration camps. It is, however, important to continue to teach America, Russia, and China about their missteps because they seemingly haven't learned the lesson the last century (or more) has had to offer.
