The assumption was that 75% of the population would support removal of a corrupt client regime subservient to Washington. That did not happen due to the Ukrainian military keeping control of the population.

The promise of resource deals for the fools in the Taliban is enough. Iran has bribed Taliban officials to get weapons also. Then they sell them to the Russians. Now the same think is occurring in the Ukraine.
