  1. Trump is a leader, and calls the shots here. Trump is a massive change to the utterly useless Obama. Merkel is out of her depth here, even though when she met Obama, it was Obama who was out of his depth. The bit where she admitted that the US President has a responsibility to represents the INTERESTS OF THE PEOPLE of the USA, is a massive change. With Obama, she was dealing with a fool that makes her look like a genius.                                                                                                                                                  Merkel has been dragging her heels on the defense expenditure issue for a decade, whilst lecturing the Greeks who actually DID meet their NATO commitments. Now, as a result of Trump and Pence, Merkel is actually be pushed into meeting her promise.
