  3. If you wish to punish Russia, hand over the Ukraine to the Russians. Do not even try to prevent the Russians taking over. Do not give any weapons to any Ukrainians. Let the Russians have the Ukraine without any bloodshed. Then Russia will be forced to fix the Ukrainian mess. It will cost a fortune. It will be more difficult than Northern Ireland to pacify. It will be more expensive that East Germany to reintegrate. It will take more time than the CSA aftermath to clean up and harmonise. The most stupid thing that Washington could do is try to prevent Russia getting into a Ukrainian quagmire. But.... Unfortunately..... Washington only prevents OTHER countries getting into expensive quagmires.
