  1. A big problem is the manner in which Western leaders, business interests, clueless intellectuals and opportunists destroyed any possibility of trust in the 1990s, with the Russian people. The peace dividend was blown. The US focused on Ponzi investment, and Western Europe on welfare for voting blocks. Nobody addressed the post Soviet mess. Our "leadership" created this mess. The Western media drove the Kremlin into paranoia. We see that now. In fact the Western media drove themselves into paranoia. Our leaders are making it worse everyday. Endless wars. Illegal invasions in the Middle East. NGOs interfering in other countries. Wars over resources. It is obvious that we are making this much, much worse. Everybody needs to change direction. Starting in the West. We cannot change the Kremlin. That will alarm the Chinese. Then there would be a bigger problem. Maybe then Putin will step down ( or else be moved by the Russian military) & we can get de-escalation. The current trend is frightening.
