  1. Roman had a few dodgy emperors, civil wars, the Goths and inflation. Britain had some very ineffectual politicians between Churchill and Thatcher, Keynesian economics, war debt, and industrial competition. The US has the Dem party, the Liberal media, and Wall Street.

  3. Interesting remark. When Breshnev was in power he was out of his mind on medication. Andropov got into power when he was already low on energy and alertness. Chernenko was barely aware of where he was. It is dangerous having somebody that clueless in high position.
