  1. Merkel is a disaster for every country in the EU - especially Germany. Her slyness will result in Brits turning away from German products, to the detriment of Germany workers and firms. She is a diplomatic disaster. The sooner that people in Germany, talk openly about the problem that is Merkel, the better for Germany. Did anybody remember people turning against Germany when Schroeder was Bundes-Kanzler ?   Some people made jokes about him, but he was not hated by Germany's neighbours.

  2. Ireland is being used as a mechanism to prevent the UK getting any autonomy. The purpose of the EU imperial project is the centralization of power and lawmaking into one power centre. This is a disaster for anybody apart from those with access to the levers of power. The British have realised this. they realise that Brussels is failing. Rather than reform the EU's powers, (as proposed by Cameron) those at the centre of power, are pushing for more power at the centre.
