Macron is the hardline in the EU, even though "Macron" is now effectively an insult in France. The current government in Madrid is backing up Macron, even though they were not elected to power, and even though they are effectively in complete disrepute amongst Spaniards. And finally there is the Irish Deputy PM, who will be the next IRL EU Commissioner, who has decided he wants the highest job possible, in the EU Commission - putting his own ambition ahead of the interests of the Irish people. All that is missing is Angela Merkel to snatch catastrophe from the jaws of chaos.
