  8. That will not last. Before long the Taliban will be causing disruptions in the neighbourhood. The only question is in which neighbouring country will the interference start. Pakistan is a very instable entity, with Islamist parties fighting religious minorities. It is only a matter of time before those political entities start smuggling in weapons and jihadis into Pakistan, in order to achieve their dreams of taking over Pakistan. That will prompt Beijing to make a move pre-emptively, to protect their investment in the current regime in Pakistan. Long term, both Beijing, and New Dehli, in addition to Tehran will have an interest in preventing Afghanistan from causing problems in the neighbourhood. The Kremlin will get dragged in alongside them.
