@thucduyen9592 the good news is that the European countries all launched restrictive sanctions against the illegal invader of Vietnam. Oh... Hold on.... They said nothing. They said absolutely nothing. Vietnam was illegally invaded, and a corrupt regime that was hated was propped up by the invader.... And there were no sanctions in Europe or Canada against that illegal invasion.

@william_marshal that explains why Kamala Harris was in Vietnam when there was a disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. Kamala was confident. Kamala is ALWAYS confident. It comes with being clueless.

When they reached Baghdad, they immediately seized the Ministry of Petroleum. Priorities..... Donald Trump later expressed dismay at the level of resource grabbing that occurred. It was insufficient. The Iraqis signed deals with PetroChina & others. How ungrateful of them! Did they not know who funded Dubya?

Another result will be an end to the flow of capital from the Global South into investment markets like London, NYC, Paris, Amsterdam etc... In other words the governments of lower income countries will move to keep all their funds local. They will realise that the entire financial system is keeping them poor. The retention of financial resources in the Global South will resolve a lot of the poverty in those countries. This is a good outcome.

The problem with these sanctions is that they will make a lot of countries paranoid about the international financial system. Even countries with average relations with Washington or other Western capitals, will get very concerned. They make a gold backed yuan a virtual certainty. And it makes it more likely that others will want this as a reserve. Other large countries outside the West, who wish to preserve their sovereign, will be shocked by Western governments. In other worlds the entire reaction will drive global demand for gold upwards. It will also cause countries in Latin America and Africa to think differently concerning their mining concessions.

There are geniuses in Brussels who will fix everything. Just look at how they fixed Greece. Or how they patched up Italy, how many times? Or how the British were so impressed with the talent in Brussels, that they had to leave as a result of their own feelings of inadequacy. The English people decided that they did not deserve such geniuses telling the what constituted a banana. ( presumably no country in Latin America has a bureaucratic process for defining a banana, they just focus on producing them).

That needs to be filmed.

I am reminded of the term "Bread & circuses". Really. It is irrelevant. Besides Russia has an option - join the Asian football tournaments. Russia is also in Asia.

London is full of French and Spanish graduates who cannot find work in their own countries.

The most jingoistic currently is Britain's Sky News. Unbelievable. There is a compelling case to be made in favour of Ukrainian Independence and Sovereignty. But they do not care. They are doing is turning this war into a game of public emotional control. Theit coverage of the Iraq invasion and it was the complete inverse. The invading forces were heroic. Sky is owned by a dodgy oligarch called Rupert Murdoch.

Good news. The ECB will print more food and fuel. It worked for the Weimar Republic currency making bank, therefore it will work for it's grand child.

To be honest, I think at this point in time the people of the USA are realising that the "swamp" is using them. In fact there is a current model of government in the West which is highly extractive if it's subjects. As Canada has recently discovered it is also disrespectful, dishonest and unaccountable.

Trudeau and Biden are stopping any additional Alberta oil from reaching the rest of the world. That is driving up oil prices.
