Because this was an intelligent discussion. Unfortunately, discussions like this never occur on Television. There is a way to improve the quality of discussions is to view discussions like this one, and ignore the debacles on TV. So as to show appreciation for quality.

The root of the problem started 14 centuries ago. The problem is the teachings of a cult, which contain enormous levels of hate - Hitchens documented this in "God is NOT great". He pointed out that there is a serious problem with Islam. ISIS, Al Qaeda, and certain regimes are not extremists - they are following exactly what the cult founder did. The heroes in this war are Ex-Muslims who step forward and speak openly about the level of hate in the Islamic teachings. Islam rules through fear. It is a belief built on fear. And the aim for the sake of humanity is a level of secularism that results in apostasy being permitted in every country, in the world - including the theocracies that are the most extreme form applied.

Previous to the "sixties revolution" in the USA, there was another "youth revolution" in the PRC, which was also dedicated to wrecking tradition, and overhauling society. The PRC seems to have survived it's cultural calamity.

The media hit him with venom for exposing slick Willy as a liar. That act by Newt, was itself, a great act of service to the American people.

The Hoover Institution is now a war propaganda conduit. I am going elsewhere.

Hindsight, gives people a different perspective. Vietnam was a waste of time, energy and resources. So, too was Afghanistan. Vietnam fell to Communism, and then became opposed to Beijing, as soon as the USA pulled out. Afghanistan under Communism, would have been less of a nuisance than under the Taliban. And it would have allowed the West to have two competing forces turned against each other to the benefit of the West. Present-day Iraq is aligned to Iran, and Syria - which was never the objective. On the positive side, atheism in Iraq is more openly expressed than in any Middle Eastern society, despite (or maybe because) of the violence inspired by belief there.
